Rapaport Emergency Webinar - Russian Sanctions
Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024 – 11:00 am ET

Dear Daimond,

Effective this Friday, March 1, 2024, it will be illegal to import into the US Russian source diamonds or diamond jewelry even if the diamonds or jewelry has been cut or substantially transformed outside of Russia. Furthermore, US-owned companies will not be allowed to trade such diamonds or jewelry anywhere in the world.

Shockingly, US regulators have not issued any guidelines regarding these new rules. For example, if a US company exports diamonds from the US to the Hong Kong show and then seeks to reimport those diamonds, can there be a problem?

It is vital that you understand the situation and work together with us to ensure that government regulators create effective regulations that do not harm our trade while effectively restrict the flow of Russian diamonds into the US.

We will be presenting the Rapaport US Diamond Protocol with over 1,500 signatures to the US government next week. This protocol calls for declarative statements upon import, blockchain technology in the event the US government requires traceability and, most importantly, a demand that all diamonds in the US, including estate jewelry and recycled diamonds, be free of any trade restriction or additional compliance regulations.

Here is what you should do:

  • Support the Rapaport US Diamond Protocol here
